About the team & company:

Mike Mikoda, our late founder and hoist designer extraodinaire.

Put simply, the team is the company. We were founded by Mike Mikoda and Steve Marczi in 2015 as a second act. Two extremely talented, smart, and humble guys that didn’t want to hang it up started making custom hoists for applications nobody else wanted to take a swing at in Ontario and eastern Canada. Unfortunately we lost Mike in 2023 to an ilness, but his designs live on and reflect forty-plus years of experience and owning two crane companies. Steve is still our chief engineer and designer although he no longer manages individual projects. Steve also has thirty-plus year in cranes, plus ten years spent “out of cranes” at SEW Eurodrive. He is our gearbox guru, something few companies can claim to have. Of course he sold plenty of crane gearboxes in that time and we are fortunate to have the best crane gearbox guru in North America. Because we use leading firms such as SEW Eurodrive for our gearboxes, we love to tout the fact that our external quality control team is probably larger than most crane companies.

In 2024 the company was bought by Mike’s son Dan along with some other partners. Dan is an engineer with twenty-plus years managing engineering departments and production/assembly facilities. His credits include building NOG nuclear-rated cranes with 3″ top plates and holding a welding cert from the Canadian Welding Board since he was seventeen. Dan epitomizes our “no bullshitters” philosophy. We only work with people that have been in cranes for over ten years and are known, talented, and hard working people.

We only sell to crane builders and crane service companies. No end users. This includes parts.
